Knife making is a complicated endeavor. Bladesmiths often must become masters of many trades. Not only are we blacksmiths; but also sculptors, woodworkers, welders, machinists, and metallurgists, and by default engineers. I taught myself most of these trades and it has taken me years to do so. I now offer to you the opportunity for a entry level into all of this information and the opportunity to make your own knife.

Contrary to what you may see on tv, it is not a 3 hour process. But in my one on one beginner knife making class you will fully forge, heat treat, and handle your own knife of your own style in one day. I can also do small groups in a multiple day format.

For “alumni” of my beginner class, I offer an intermediate Damascus class. This can be a two or three day class depending on your preferences of complexity and style.
